Spade Comes Up Trumps

It might be somewhat delayed, but the cold weather we have all been anticipating has finally drifted in, and with it we can start enjoying all of the bare essentials we spent November onwards stocking up on! Insulated coats, practical boots and the odd pair of thermals have been clogging up my wardrobe, but the temperatures just didn’t seem to want to drop quite low enough.

And now that they have? Well, I’m looking onwards and upwards already.

KATE SPADE

Inspired by the, “irreverently chic spirit of our favourite girl bands”, Kate Spade’s Spring 2012 collection is made for an independent and confident girl who enjoys lips that are slicked with vibrant tones, who can sing along to her favourite bands and conquer even the most heated debate. She matches her accessories seamlessly whilst ensuring practicality at all times.

Florence Broadhurst has brought the collection together perfectly with her monochrome vintage prints, which are given a burst of colour with palettes of pink and orange. The simplicity of the fabric combined with patent accessories, classic macs and statement t-shirts means that the new collection packs a real impact.

The brilliant thing is that you can pick and choose the style that you want to convey; pull on a simple, statement t-shirt and grab your vibrant clutch, with matching lipstick, and you’re set. Or you could select a monochrome dress in a retro 60s shape, with delicate detailing in the print, and match it with a pair of simple flats with just a slice of orange across the toes.

The highlight of the collection has to be the classic mac: this brilliant option from Monsoon summaries the strong lines and clean edges, and continues the monochrome theme brilliantly. This will glamorise your eveningwear whilst still being a great match with jeans and smart ballet pumps for daytime.
