Celebrity style swimwear trends for your winter get-away!

Now that winter is well and truly here, chances are you’ve already got over that initial excitement of throwing on your nice chunky ‘coatigan’, or cosying up in your new snood. As November draws to an end, you’re probably starting to feel the chill and realise it’s only going to get colder over the next few months… So why not take a tip from the celebrities and take an exotic winter break to brighten up the chilly season. It’s the perfect excuse to brighten up your shopping sprees too, by indulging in a new bikini!

The A-listers sure know a thing or two about how to holiday in style, all year round! Here are some top winter destinations that can offer a spot of sunshine as well as the chance to party like a celeb too! Cabo San Lucas in Mexico has long been frequented by a host of celebrities, including Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Biel. With pristine blue water and white sands, it’s the perfect getaway for the Hollywood crowd as it’s only a short two hour flight from Los Angeles. Alternatively St. Bart’s, in the gorgeous Caribbean, is always a favourite luxury location, with fans including Beyonce and Jay Z, Mariah Carey and Rihanna.

Luckily for us Brits, the best time to visit Maui, Hawaii is during our winter months. It’s when the waves are at their most exhilarating – great for watching sexy surfer boys, or for catching some waves yourself. It’s also whale-watching season too! For a bit of luxury, head to the Four Seasons Resort in Wailea, where you might just spot Venessa Hudgens and Zac Effron, Britney Spears and Rachel Bilson trying their hand at some stand-up-paddle boarding, the latest island trend in beach-time fun. Rachel Bilson, pictured, took to the Hawaiian sands earlier this year in a cute mismatched bikini, clashing a blue top with black bottoms for a laid back beach-babe look.

For a cheeky dose of summer fun with a vibrant city as a backdrop, then head to Sydney, Australia. The buzzing Bondi Beach is the ideal place for strutting along the shore in some fabulous swimwear, like celebrity visitors Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton! After a day on the beach, check out Darling Harbour to party at the many bars that line the pretty waterfront, my favourites are Cargo and Bungalow 8.

Or jet-set off to Miami, U.S.A., to party in the sunshine like J-Lo, Shakira and the Kardashian sisters. Take a style tip from Kim Kardashian (pictured) and pair a shimmery bikini with some glam oversized shades, and spend the day lounging around the Gansevoort South’s roof-top pool, with an awesome view of the famous South Beach! Las Vegas is another favourite for some glitz and glamour, attracting everyone from music superstars like Usher to the girls from The Hills. The City of Sin was recently chosen by Russell Brand’s new wife, Katy Perry, for her bachelorette celebrations this September, pictured here in a classic cut white bikini. Also joining her at the Hard Rock Hotel Beach Club pool was Rihanna, looking dazzling in a shimmery gold one-piece.

So now you know where to go, here’s how to get that beach-chic look. Whether you opt for neon brights, sophisticated black, or a flash of sparkle, sassy swimwear is all about the cut. Top trends right now include the bandeau top (a favourite of Sienna Miller on her 2010 Carribean holiday), low-rise bottoms, cut-out swimsuits (often worn by the likes of Paris Hilton and Rihanna), retro curves, and contrast-colour mismatched two-piece bikinis.
